Given her musical pedigree – daughter of Dame Cleo Laine and the late Sir John Dankworth - it’s no surprise that JACQUI DANKWORTH is considered to be “one of the classiest acts in British jazz singing”(The Guardian). Her third solo album, ‘Back to You’, (Audacious) was released to critical acclaim in autumn 2009, hitting the Top Ten jazz charts and firmly establishing this singer-songwriter extraordinaire as one of the UK’s most sought-after artists.

With numerous appearances on national TV and radio, Jacqui continues to make an enormous impression wherever she performs, wowing packed houses at major festivals and other venues worldwide. In her latest project, she has teamed up with phenomenal Memphis-born singer/songwriter/pianist CHARLIE WOOD in a tribute to Ray Charles & Betty Carter, celebrating the 50th anniversary of their definitive album ‘Dedicated To You’.

Accompanied by a formidable rhythm section, Jacqui and Charlie duet with a sophisticated, swinging and soulful mix featuring classics such as ‘Alone Together’, ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ and ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye’ as well as their own catchy material. The pair recently took New York by storm where they performed with the legendary Marvin Hamlisch.

This concert takes place on the evening of the towns busiest event, the Cheese Festival. With a variety of food and crafts stalls, refreshments and entertainment there is plenty for everyone.
