Art Classes for Pleasure
Run by local artist Mary-Ann Featherstone for adults who enjoy learning new drawing and watercolour techniques. Students develop their own style and use personal interests to inspire them.

The Somerset and Dorset branch of the Family History Society meet monthly at The Exchange and welcome a range of speakers and presenters to address the group. Whether you are an experienced geneologist or just starting to look into your own family history, this group will give you the help and support that you need.

Felt Making Workshop
Whether you are a beginner, an improver or an expert there is something for everyone at these monthly workshops. Each session gives felters the time and space to work or their projects with an experienced felter on hand for guidance. Fibres, fabrics and yarns are available to buy during the session and refreshments are included.

The Floral Group
Do you love flowers? If the answer is yes, then this is the group for you. Sturminster Newton Floral Group meet every second Wednesday of the month and welcome a whole host of interesting demonstrators. After each presentation there is the opportunity to ask questions and take a closer look at the arrangements. We also hold an annual floral show. Non-members are always welcome to attend the monthly meeting.

The Gardening Club
The local gardening club meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, always with a speaker presenting a fully illustrated talk or demonstration. Again, the gardening club welcome non-memebrs along to their monthly talk and they too hold an annual show in the Stour Hall.

The Learning Centre
Sturminster Newton Community Learning Centre can be found in the Lydden room of The Exchange. The Centre is open as a Drop-in every Wednesday from 10am-4pm and again from 7:30pm-9pm. Visitors can use the PCs for their own work, get help with leaning about computers, get help and advice or follow a course on individual topics. Language Classes
The language classes that take place at The Exchange are hugely popular and in high demand. Classes currently include French, Spanish, Italin and English for beginners. Whether you are looking to learn for fun or to prepare for a holiday, there are classes for all abilities.

Age Concern Lunch Club
The Lunch Club meets every Thursday throughout the year, apart from August. Their own talented cooks produce a variety of menus enjoyed by diners with the meals being served by local volunteers. Transport can be arranged for those living locally.

Paul Hart Art Class
Formed by artist and musician Paul Hart in 2007 this group has continued his vision of encouraging local amateur artists of all abilities, to improve and expand their skills and techniques. The group is supported by a qualified tutor, Cath Broadway. Members cover a wide range of media, including oils, water colours, acrylics, beadmaking and patchwork. The group meets on Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm. They also offer a free taster session providing all materials to people interested in joining. |

Pilates Classes
This is a relaxing master class teaching the basic principles at foundation level so that the class is manageable forall. The class will be taught at a pace that ensures you are working with the correct technique and hands on correction will be given. Playsongs Plus
Playsongs is a wonderful interactive singing class for babies and toddlers. join them for fun and live music sessions with songs, ryhmes, rhythms and instruments for small hands. Make sure you contact Playsongs first to check space as these classes are really popular. The classes held here cater for children aged from 0-12 months and under 3.
